World of Warcraft: Forever

Making gold

Gold comes from playing: gathering and selling what you gather, crafting what others need, and the recipes that drop in dungeons. This page gathers what the site has on each.

Which professions earn most

Each profession’s tier on our two gold lists: at launch, while everyone is leveling, and once the market settles.

Each profession's tier on the gold lists
Profession	Kind	At launch	Settled	In short
Herbalism	Primary gathering	S	A	Herbalism is an S-tier opener: herbs feed crates and the new First Aid potions, but common herbs flood fast.
Mining	Primary gathering	A	A	Mining is an A-tier opener: ore sells from the first hour with no gold in, but copper stays plentiful despite fewer starter veins.
Skinning	Primary gathering	A	F	Skinning is a strong A: Light Leather sells from the first hour into crates and Leatherworking, but nearly everyone has it.
First Aid	Secondary	B	C	First Aid is a B-tier secondary: it owns the new healing potions, but potion recipes and supply are still unknown.
Fishing	Secondary	B	D	Fishing is a B-tier secondary: free to start and slow, with cheap raw fish and few launch sinks, but no one rushes it.
Tailoring	Primary crafting	B	F	Tailoring is a B-tier craft: Forever's new reagent-only bag slot gives every character another bag to buy, and tailors make most of them.
Alchemy	Primary crafting	C	A	Alchemy is a C-tier craft: elixirs sell at low skill, but healing potions left it and most recipes are item-taught.
Cooking	Secondary	D	F	Cooking is a D-tier secondary: XP-buff food sells to levelers, but recipes cost money and supply is deep.
Leatherworking	Primary crafting	D	F	Leatherworking is a D-tier craft: Skinning's leather is the cost, and its early outputs have little launch demand.
Enchanting	Primary crafting	D	D	Enchanting is a D-tier craft: Strange Dust has steady demand, but the profession lives on disenchanted gear and costs gold to start.
Blacksmithing	Primary crafting	D	F	Blacksmithing is a D-tier craft: stones and early gear sell to levelers, but copper bars barely beat their ore cost.
Engineering	Primary crafting	F	F	Engineering is the only F: it is the most gold-hungry profession to level, and nothing in Forever's launch sinks buys its output.

Gathering

A gathering profession needs no materials and sells to every crafter.
