World of Warcraft: Forever
PvP
The rules every class and spec plays PvP under: Honor and ranks, the gear they buy, the battlegrounds, world PvP and combat, each marked with how sure it is.
As of . Outlined labels say how sure each claim is:
- Live in beta in a beta build, with its date
- Announced Blizzard said so; not in a build yet
- Unconfirmed in client data only, not yet confirmed in game
- Rumored not confirmed by Blizzard or the client
- Classic Classic Era behavior no Forever source confirms or contradicts
Honor and ranks
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Honor is a currency. You earn it by killing players, finishing battlegrounds and doing PvP quests, and the holiday-week battleground gives more. Gains are balanced so that no battleground is the only one worth queuing for Honor.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Rank Points are a second track, from battlegrounds and PvP quests, that climbs the fourteen original ranks to High Warlord or Grand Marshal. They have a weekly cap, and ranks start again each season.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Each season has a journey of weekly tasks that grant Honor and Rank Points, and three of its tasks each grant a Legacy Point.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) The Honor cap is 25,000, up from 15,000.
- Rumored (not confirmed by Blizzard or the client) Rank 14 takes 24,750 Rank Points in all, and the weekly cap allows rank 3 in the first week and rank 14 in the tenth.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Marks of Honor stack to 30.
Rank rewards
Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) What each rank unlocks, rank 1 first.
| Rank | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tabard |
| 2 | PvP trinket |
| 3 | Cloaks |
| 4 | Necklace |
| 5 | Combat potions |
| 6 | Tabard |
| 7 | Battle standard |
| 8 | Epic bracers and belt token |
| 9 | Epic boots token |
| 10 | Epic gloves token |
| 11 | Mounts |
| 12 | Epic legs and shoulders token |
| 13 | Epic chest and helm token |
| 14 | Epic weapons |
PvP gear
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Honor buys a blue set and an epic set for each role. An epic piece is its blue piece plus an Emboldened Seal, and the seals are gated by rank.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Honor prices rose by about half on 1 October 2026.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) New sets fill the roles the old ones missed:
Shamans get healer, melee and caster sets. - Rumored (not confirmed by Blizzard or the client)
Priests get a new healer set,
Druids caster and healer sets, and Paladins a melee set. The epic Elite set is item level 65. - Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Transmogrifying a PvP piece needs the rank it came from.
Battlegrounds
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Darkspear Islands is a new battleground for levels 30 to 60: 15 players a side, first to 2,000. Four capture points score while you hold them, and a flag in the middle scores when it is carried to a base your team holds.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Darkspear Islands is the one battleground the beta queues, from level 30.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Darkspear Islands has its own reputation for each faction, which sells trinkets, rings, cloaks, weapons and armor, and an Exalted tabard.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley are promised. When each opens has not been announced.
- Classic (Classic Era behavior no Forever source confirms or contradicts) Warsong Gulch is 10 a side, Arathi Basin 15 and Alterac Valley 40.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Alterac Valley gives less Honor than it did and the other battlegrounds more, so no holiday week makes one map the only right pick.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Queues mix the rulesets, except Hardcore. Premade groups meet premades, and solo players and groups of two or three meet each other. War games may come after launch, with no Honor.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) There are no arenas and no rated PvP. Blizzard balances classes for battlegrounds, not for 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3.
World PvP
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) There is one megaserver per ruleset: Normal, PvP and RP, with Hardcore later.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) PvP servers have no protection for low-level players.
- Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) There are no world PvP objectives at launch, such as towers or Silithus-style events, though Blizzard wants some later. Whether world bosses are instanced is undecided.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Sapping a flagged player flags the
Rogue. - Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) The Novice
Warriors in Mulgore no longer flag you, and Horde players are attacked on sight in Dalaran's open world. - Announced (Blizzard said so; not in a build yet) Layering caps the players in each zone, and small fights at the edges of zones are still being worked on.
Combat rules
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Critical strikes against players do their full damage: the PvP reduction is gone. No PvP damage or healing modifier, and no stat like resilience, has been announced.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date) Diminishing returns are confirmed only for
Entrapment. - Classic (Classic Era behavior no Forever source confirms or contradicts) In Classic, diminishing returns were shared by family, such as stuns, fears and roots. Forever's own categories have not been announced.
- Rumored (not confirmed by Blizzard or the client) Crowd control lasts its full Classic duration on players, with no shorter cap, and can break early on Classic's periodic resist checks.
- Live in beta (in a beta build, with its date)
Sap does not trigger weapon procs, and damage from the Discolored Healing Potion no longer breaks crowd control. - Unconfirmed (in client data only, not yet confirmed in game)
Hunter pets bring PvP tools: a Crocolisk's Dismember cuts healing by 25% for 6 seconds, and a Bat's Sonic Blast slows casting by 30% for 20 seconds.
Professions
- Unconfirmed (in client data only, not yet confirmed in game)
Engineering's Net-o-Matic roots a target up to 30 yards away, on a 10-minute cooldown. The nets and grenades share a one-minute cooldown. - Unconfirmed (in client data only, not yet confirmed in game) The Free Action Potion and the Limited Invulnerability Potion are
Alchemy recipes. What they do in Forever has not been checked.
