Primary crafting profession
Enchanting
Enchants gear, makes wands and oils, and breaks unwanted items into materials.
Overview
Enchanters add permanent bonuses to weapons and armor, craft wands, rods and oils, and disenchant items for materials. In Forever they also make class-specific staves, orbs and relics, and place a lute that buffs the group at camp.

Good fit
Mage (1st choice, for levelling, with Tailoring): Tailoring needs no gatherer and makes bags and early cloth pieces, and Enchanting disenchants the output and makes wands.
Priest (1st choice, for levelling, with Tailoring): Enchanting makes wands from level 1 (Novice's Practice Wand) for a class that levels on its wand, and Tailoring supplies cloth gear and bags with no gatherer.
Warlock (1st choice, for levelling, with Tailoring): Tailoring makes the Soul Pouch (24 slots) and Felcloth Bag (32), which sit in the reagent slot instead of taking a normal bag, and Enchanting adds wands and enchants.
Works
Mage (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Tailoring): Spell-power staves and the Orb of Mystic Insight (level 25, +6 Intellect, +7 spell power) are made by enchanters and, by beta tooltips, bind on pickup.
Paladin (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Blacksmithing): Enchanting makes Paladin-only librams, bind on pickup by beta tooltips: Tenets of the Silver Hand (20), Libram of Invocation (40, Seal cost -5%) and Libram of Holy Alacrity (55).
Priest (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Tailoring): Healer staves, the Twisting Essence Jar and the Brilliant Wand are enchanter-made, so staying on Enchanting keeps them within reach.
Shaman (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Leatherworking): Enchanting makes the Shaman totem relics: Polished Driftwood Icon (20, 8% mana regeneration while casting), Totem of Ancestral Protection (40) and Totem of Thunder (60).
Warlock (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Tailoring): Soul shards do not fit generic reagent bags, so a Tailored soul bag is what keeps shards out of your normal bags.
Druid (3rd choice, alt-friendly): Enchanters can make the Druid-only idols (Mystic Mushroom at 20, Talons of
Wrath at 40, Idol of the Dream at 55), which beta tooltips show as bind on pickup, so they may not be makeable for you.
What Forever changes
Camp items
Enchanting places an Enchanted Lute at skill 20 (armor, stats and resistances for those sitting nearby), an Arcane Salvager at 140 for more efficient disenchanting, and an Arcane Forge at 300 that some recipes need. Tier 2 and tier 3 items each need a Blueprint recipe item first.
New recipes
68 of the 272 Enchanting abilities are new in Forever, 122 changed (96 of them in reagents), and the highest yellow threshold is 320.
Enchanter-only gear Unconfirmed (not yet shown by the game client or Blizzard)
Enchanting's new staves, off-hand orbs and the relics below level 60 bind on pickup, so only the enchanter can use them; every relic is locked to one class. This rests on item tooltips from the beta, not on the client tables.
Camp items
| Item | Skill | Reagents | Learned from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 1 × Simple Wood, 1 × Strange Dust | Not in the client data | |
| 140 | 2 × Vision Dust, 1 × Lesser Nether Essence | Blueprint: Arcane Salvager | |
| 300 | 1 × Maker's Spark, 2 × Large Brilliant Shard, 4 × Greater Eternal Essence | Blueprint: Arcane Forge |
