Good fit
Druid (1st choice, for levelling, with Skinning): Druids can skin without leaving animal form, and Leatherworking's skill-20 Camp Tent tops up rested experience for the whole group.
Hunter (1st choice, for levelling, with Skinning): Leatherworking makes the quivers and ammo pouches Hunters still need, and Skinning feeds it the leather.
Rogue (1st choice, for levelling, with Skinning): Rogues wear leather, Skinning feeds Leatherworking directly, and the Camp Tent's rested experience helps all levelling.
Shaman (1st choice, for levelling, with Skinning): Leatherworking has mail recipes from level 40 (Skycaller's Mail Boots among them) for a class that gets mail then, and makes the Camp Tent before that.
Works
Hunter (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Engineering): Engineering adds the Repair Bot to the camp at skill 140 and keeps scope recipes available, while Leatherworking keeps ammo bags and armor coming.
Shaman (2nd choice, at the level cap, with Enchanting): Enchanting makes the Shaman totem relics: Polished Driftwood Icon (20, 8% mana regeneration while casting), Totem of Ancestral Protection (40) and Totem of Thunder (60).
Paladin (3rd choice, alt-friendly, with Skinning): Leatherworking makes armor kits and bags, though whether the leather beats plate for a Paladin is not settled.
Warrior (4th choice, alt-friendly, with Skinning): Skinning's Camp Chair gives you and those sitting nearby 2% critical strike chance.
What Forever changes
Camp items
Leatherworking places a Camp Tent at skill 20 (rested experience topped up to 5% of a level for those sitting nearby), a Tanning Rack at 140 that makes certain reagents, and a Sewing Machine at 300 that some recipes need. Tier 2 and tier 3 items each need a Blueprint recipe item first.
Reagent bag
The Light Leather Reagent Bag is new: a 6-slot reagent container whose recipe turns yellow at skill 40.
Biggest recipe list
616 abilities, 288 of them new and 232 changed, make this the largest profession in the client; 162 of 204 changed yellow thresholds moved 25 skill earlier.
Dungeon recipes
Blizzard enabled a number of Leatherworking recipes intended as random dungeon drops in the 1 October beta notes.
