Stormwind City
The capital of the kingdom of Stormwind, the largest human city on Azeroth and the heart of the Alliance.
Overview
Stormwind is a vast walled city anchored by Stormwind Keep, where the royal court sits, with a harbor on the northwest coast and a gryphon master in the Trade District. The Deeprun Tram links it underground to Ironforge.

Lore
Orcs of the Horde destroyed Stormwind in the First War, and King Llane was assassinated during the second siege. Anduin Lothar, who had led the defense, became regent for the young Varian and led the survivors to Lordaeron. The city was later rebuilt, largely by the Stonemasons' Guild.
The unpaid stonemasons rioted after the nobles disbanded their guild, Queen Tiffin was accidentally killed, and the displaced masons became the Defias Brotherhood. Later King Varian went missing; Prince Anduin was crowned, and Highlord Bolvar Fordragon served as regent and military commander. Lady Katrana Prestor, a royal councilor, was secretly the black dragon Onyxia.
