Lore
Orcs of the Horde marched through Elwynn in the First War and encircled Stormwind, and the city later fell in a second siege. Anduin Lothar became regent lord and led the refugees to Lordaeron.
After the wars, Stormwind's Stonemasons Guild went unpaid for rebuilding the city, because the nobles' debts left the kingdom unable to pay. The guild was disbanded, riots followed, and the Defias Brotherhood emerged from the unrest. Northshire Abbey was rebuilt after the Second War with help from Archbishop Alonsus Faol.
