Undead
The Forsaken are the best Horde race for casters and healers, with mana recovery, a fear and charm break, and a health-drain proc.
Overview
Undead is the leading Horde choice for Priests, Mages, Warlocks and Paladins. Cannibalize restores both health and mana from a nearby corpse, which cuts downtime between pulls. Will of the Forsaken removes charm, fear and sleep on demand.
Touch of the Grave gives attacks and spells a chance to drain a little health from the target. The chance is higher for Priests, Mages and Warlocks than for Warriors, Paladins and Rogues. It only triggers from abilities that deal damage, and it does not break crowd control.
Undead Priests also gain two racial spells, Dark Sacrifice and Touch of Weakness. Undead is the only Horde race that can be a Paladin.

Best classes for Undead
- Priest: Cannibalize and Dark Sacrifice give the best mana sustain of any Horde Priest race.
- Paladin: The only Horde Paladin race, and it has the normal Undead kit.
- Warlock: Touch of the Grave and Cannibalize suit a caster who trades health and mana.
- Mage: Cannibalize cuts drinking time, and the higher drain chance suits casters (likely).
Lore
The Forsaken are former humans of the kingdom of Lordaeron. The Lich King, the dark master of the Scourge, raised them as undead servants after the plague of undeath swept the northern lands. The Scourge destroyed Lordaeron's cities, and most of its people died or turned.
Some of the undead broke the Lich King's hold when he lost control of them. Led by Sylvanas Windrunner, the former Ranger-General of Silvermoon, they took the ruins of the Lordaeron capital, called the Undercity, as their base. They fought the Scourge and, in time, the human and Alliance forces that sought to destroy them.
The Forsaken hold the lands of Tirisfal Glades. They keep their free will but live with the pain of what they are. Their society is built on survival and revenge, and they accept a little cruelty in pursuit of both. The Royal Apothecary Society, who make the plague, work under the Undercity.
The Forsaken joined the Horde because no one else would take them in. Thrall and the orcs offered them a place and an alliance of convenience, and the Tauren and the Darkspear trolls tolerate them. The humans and the other Alliance races fear and hate them, and the Forsaken return that feeling.
Good to know
- Undead Paladin is a new combination in Forever. It gets the normal Undead racials and no Paladin-specific one.
- Undead Priests gain Dark Sacrifice, which trades health for mana over 15 seconds, and Touch of Weakness.
- Undead speak Gutterspeak, and they understand Orcish through the Horde.
