Alliance race
Skyborne (High Order)
Alliance Skyborne scholars from the wind spirits' realm, the only Alliance race with a built-in glide and the only one with a Mage tied to its lore.
Overview
High Order Skyborne can be Druids, Hunters, Mages, Rogues and Warriors. Mage is open only to the High Order, and every Skyborne class combination is new in Forever. Druids have forms made for the race.
Wind Blessed raises your melee, ranged and spell haste by 3%, which helps every class, and Elemental Insight adds 5% damage against Elementals. Walk on Air lets you glide downward for 10 seconds while steering, on a 90 second cooldown. Read Ley Line is a 2 second cast that doubles Health and Mana regeneration, lasting 15 minutes if a ley line is nearby and only a short time if none is.
The race suits players who want a permanent damage bonus rather than a burst cooldown or a utility ability. Ley lines appear in many leveling zones and show as purple icons on the map, so Read Ley Line helps most while questing.

Classes
Racial abilities
| Racial | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| active | Glide downward through the air for 10 sec while controlling your direction of travel. What to know: Safe descents from cliffs and towers while leveling and exploring. It has little use in combat. | |
| active | Attempt to tap into the power of a nearby leyline, increasing your Health and Mana regeneration by 100%. Lasts 30 sec if no leyline is nearby, and 15 min if one is found. What to know: Cast it at a ley line before a run of pulls while questing. Away from a line it is of little use. | |
| passive | Increases your spellcasting, melee, and ranged Haste by 3%. What to know: Always on. It helps every class, with the most gain for classes that cast or attack fast. | |
| passive | Damage dealt versus Elementals increased by 5%. What to know: Helps in areas with Elementals. Otherwise it has little effect. |

Lore
The Skyborne are shen'dorei, or high elves, who live in Skywall, an elemental plane of wind. Blizzard says that, thousands of years ago, Highborne exiles made a pact with the wind spirits and built a civilization there.
The High Order descends from the Highborne scholars of Eldre'Thalas. They study arcane magic and hold on to the lore of their ancestors, which is why their people can become Mages.
The wind spirits vanished from Zephras Isle, and the protective air spirits are gone. The ancient structures there are failing, the communities are isolated and the Skyborne are divided. The High Order saw that their people's reliance on elemental patrons left them vulnerable.
A new generation has come to Azeroth to recover lost arcane knowledge and help the shen'dorei become self-reliant. Their starting zone is Zephras Isle, for levels 1 to 12, where classic Warcraft architecture mixes with elemental design.
