Discipline Priest: Macros

Keys for Discipline, ready to paste into the game's macro window: the spec's own, then the ones every Priest shares.

Type /macro in chat to open the macro window, make a new macro, and paste the body in. #showtooltip gives the button the spell's icon. A macro holds 255 characters. Each says whether it has been tested in WoW Forever; most have not yet.

A good first macro

Power Word: Shield on mouseover, target or youFrom level 6

Shields the friend under your cursor, then your target, then you. Alt shields you, Shift shields your target's target (usually the tank). A second press on the same friend fails silently while Weakened Soul lasts. Untested

Cooldowns and burst

Power Infusion on your partnerFrom level 40

With your partner set as focus it is one press; Ctrl puts Power Infusion on yourself. Press it just before a big burst, because the cooldown is three minutes. Untested

Healing and support

Penance: friend first, enemy secondFrom level 30

Heals the friend under your cursor or your friendly target; with an enemy targeted it hurts them, and Shift forces the enemy. Penance has a 12 second cooldown, so an early press only gives an error. Untested

Prayer of Healing, Ctrl adds Inner FocusFrom level 30

Mouse over someone in the party you want healed; hold Ctrl to cast Inner Focus first and make the heal free. Check that Inner Focus leaves the global cooldown free, or the heal waits for a second press. Untested

Contingency Plan (Gnome)From level 20

Put it on your partner before a dangerous pull. Gnome only; if it will not take you as a target, remove the last bracket. Untested

Wand shotFrom level 1

Starts the wand and keeps it going; pressing it again does not switch it off. Stand still, because the wand needs half a second without moving before it fires. Untested

Smite that keeps the wand safeFrom level 1

Smite the enemy under your cursor, or your target. The Smite key stops the wand first so it does not swing at the same time. Untested

Psychic Scream that stops your castFrom level 14

Emergency key for when enemies close in: it drops your cast and fears everything nearby. The catch is that it cancels your cast even when Psychic Scream is on cooldown. Untested

Shackle Undead with a remembered targetFrom level 20

Ctrl-press sets your current target as focus and shackles it; later presses shackle the focus even after you change target. Re-shackle before the old one breaks, because Shackle Undead holds only undead. Untested

Renew on mouseover, target or youFrom level 8

Puts Renew on the friend under your cursor, then your friendly target, then you. Hold the cursor on the right friend, because a mouseover out of range can land on your target instead. Untested

Fade that stops your castFrom level 8

Press when you pull threat: it drops your cast and fades at once. The catch is that it still cancels your cast if Fade is on cooldown. Untested
