Silverpine Forest

A wooded region bordering Gilneas, haunted by the Forsaken, worgen and the dark halls of Shadowfang Keep.

Lore

Shadowfang Keep began as the fortress of Baron Silverlaine. In the Third War, the archmage Arugal pulled worgen out of the Emerald Dream at the request of King Genn Greymane of Gilneas, hoping to hold back the Scourge. The curse spread to people, and Arugal, wracked with guilt, retreated into the keep and took the worgen in as his children.

Pyrewood Village was once part of Gilneas until the Greymane Wall cut it off, and it sits in the keep's shadow. The Forsaken hold the northern forest from Sepulcher.

The Greymane Wall, closed by King Greymane after the Scourge was stopped at it, separates the kingdom of Gilneas from southern Silverpine.
