Stonetalon Mountains
A mountain range south of Ashenvale, scarred by logging and contested by many factions.
Overview
The Stonetalon Mountains lie south of Ashenvale, west of the Barrens and north of Desolace. Harpies, Grimtotem tauren and Horde and Alliance forces all operate there, and goblin loggers have cut deeply into the range.

Lore
The tauren keep a settlement at the center of the range, Sun Rock Retreat, and the Grimtotem tribe holds its own post. The night elves once kept a barrow and a glade at the top of Stonetalon Peak.
Venture Company goblins have logged and mined the mountains, leaving whole cliffs barren. The mountains were the traditional home of the harpies, whose numbers have dwindled.
