A blighted wasteland shaped by demonic magic tied to the Dark Portal, with Nethergarde Keep standing guard.
Overview
The Blasted Lands are a dry, corrupted waste dominated by the Dark Portal. Basilisks, scorpions, Dreadmaul ogres, demons and corrupted creatures roam it, and Nethergarde Keep is the Alliance's base.
The Dark Portal (level 63)sits well outside the rest of the zone and is left out of its range.

Lore
Demonic fel magic tied to the Dark Portal dried up the Black Morass swamps and left the corruption that still blights the land.
Nethergarde Keep was built after the Second War and the destruction of the first Dark Portal, at the urging of Archmage Khadgar and the Kirin Tor, to prevent another invasion from Draenor. The kingdoms of the Alliance of Lordaeron funded it, and the Kirin Tor staffed its garrison. It stands on a bluff above the only road into the region.
