Blizzard confirms WoW Forever goes live worldwide on November 4 at 3:00 pm PST. The rest of the post recaps the zones, races, systems and content arriving with it.
Highlights
- Live worldwide on November 4 at 3:00 pm PST
- Set after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, with play to level 60
- More than 1,000 new quests, over 150 of them in the Riverglades
- Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair open on December 9
- The Hardcore ruleset is planned for some time after launch
What this means for players
Nothing in the guides changes: the launch time matches the countdown already on the site, and the rest repeats earlier posts. Raiders have until December 9 to reach level 60 before the three raids open.
Launch
WoW Forever opens in every region at once on November 4 at 3:00 pm PST. Blizzard calls it a permanent home for the game next to modern and Classic WoW. The story is placed after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, and play runs to level 60 across the original continents.
New zones
Blizzard counts more than 1,000 new quests across levels 1–60. Mount Hyjal deals with what followed Archimonde's defeat and includes Darkwhisper Gorge. Shen’dralas, between Mulgore and Desolace, ties into the Shen’dralar, Eldre’Thalas, Dire Maul and the region's centaur tribes. The Riverglades holds more than 150 new quests covering much of the mid-30s to mid-40s. Zephras Isle is the new race's level 1–12 starting zone.
Races and classes
The post repeats the six race and class pairs that are new in Forever and the new playable race, also called the shen’dorei, who choose a faction when they are created. None of it changes from Blizzard's earlier posts.
Getting started
The first login asks for the Classic or Enhanced experience preset before the ruleset, and Blizzard suggests Enhanced if you are unsure; every setting it picks can be changed later in the options. Each character can use High Definition or Standard Definition models, a look-only choice. The rulesets at launch are Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay PvP, and Hardcore is planned for some time after launch. Every character has two names that must be unique together in the region.
Systems
Camping turns the
Cooking profession's Basic Campfire into a campsite where nearby players can each add one profession-made Camp Feature, up to three. Sitting or crafting there for at least 1 minute gives the features' buffs, which do not stack with the class buffs they match. The account-wide Legacy System rewards exploring the game rather than raw power, works on a single character, and is made of Legacy Challenges, Legacy Perks and Legacy Rewards.
Dungeons, raids and PvP
Nine new five-player dungeons cover levels 13 to 60. On December 9, Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia’s Lair open to level 60 players. Darkspear Islands, off Dustwallow Marsh, is a new 15 versus 15 battleground between the Darkspear Raiders and the Theramore Expeditionary Force.
