Beast Mastery Hunter: Rotation

Client build 1.60.1.70425 · updated

The Beast Mastery priorities, top to bottom: use the first one that applies.

Level 60 (projected)

  1. Hunter's Mark kept on the target.
  2. Rapid Fire with Bestial Wrath and any on-use trinkets. Unconfirmed
  3. Bestial Wrath on cooldown from 40. Unconfirmed
  4. Intimidation on cooldown, or saved to peel a mob off your healer.
  5. Serpent Sting kept up.
  6. Summon Hawk whenever fewer than two are out.
  7. Aimed Shot on cooldown.
  8. Auto Shot always.

Packs

  1. Multi-Shot instead of Aimed Shot when there are three or more targets; they share a cooldown.
  2. Bear pet: Swipe hits three enemies on a 5-second cooldown. Turn its autocast on for packs.
  3. Explosive Trap from 34, dropped where the pack will stand.
  4. Volley from 40, on big packs your pet or tank holds.

Cooldowns and emergencies

  • Intimidation a 3-second pet stun with high threat: the closest thing you have to an interrupt, and your best way to pull a mob back onto the pet.
  • Freezing Trap drop it and walk an add into it, even mid-fight.
  • Feign Death from 30, when a pull goes wrong. Your pet keeps fighting.
  • Mend Pet when the pet drops low and nobody else is healing it.
  • Rapid Fire every 5 minutes for 40% attack speed.

While leveling

  1. Hunter's Mark on the target before the pull.
  2. Aspect of the Hawk in combat, always: Deadly Aspects only procs with it. Cheetah between pulls.
  3. Serpent Sting after the pet has the mob's attention. Send the pet first and let it Growl.
  4. Summon Hawk on cooldown, keeping two hawks out (from 25).
  5. Aimed Shot on cooldown (from 20).
  6. Auto Shot the rest of the time.
  7. Arcane Shot only if you have mana to spare and two hawks will stay up for 6 more seconds: it shares Summon Hawk's cooldown.
  8. Disengage if you pull aggro from the pet.
