Frost Mage: Rotation

Single target (level 40–60, projected)

1. 
   Ice Barrier before the pull or whenever it is off cooldown: absorbs damage and stops pushback. Unconfirmed
2. 
   Frostbolt as the filler; it builds Winter's Chill for your next Cone of Cold and procs Fingers of Frost.
3. 
   Ice Lance on every Fingers of Frost proc or frozen target.
4. 
   Arcane Missiles on a Missile Barrage proc in the Standard build. Unconfirmed
5. 
   Ice Lance while moving, even without a proc.

Packs

1. 
   Frost Nova to freeze a pack in place.
2. 
   Cone of Cold to slow (40% for 6 s) as you back away.
3. 
   Blizzard on a pack the tank holds, or one you have slowed. Improved Blizzard adds a 40% Chill at 3/3.
4. 
   Arcane Explosion when they are on you and Blizzard would be interrupted.

Cooldowns and emergencies

• 
  Ice Block 10 s immune to everything, but you can't act. 5-minute cooldown.
• 
  Cold Snap a 21-point talent (the level-30 build takes Fingers of Frost there instead): resets every Frost cooldown, for a second Frost Nova, Ice Block or, from 40, Ice Barrier. 10-minute cooldown.
• 
  Blink breaks stuns and roots; with Frost Nova it is your escape.
• 
  Evocation in long fights.
• 
  Frost Ward against Frost casters.

While leveling

1. 
   Frost Armor while levelling, so melee that hits you is slowed (and the Chill can proc Frostbite).
2. 
   Frostbolt to pull from range and as your main spell.
3. 
   Ice Lance as soon as the target is frozen by Frostbite. Don't cancel a Frostbolt for it: finish the cast, then Lance.
4. 
   Fingers of Frost with a proc and no freeze, Lance first: the next cast spends the proc.
5. 
   Frost Nova when a mob reaches you, then step back and Ice Lance the frozen target.
6. Wand to finish a low mob and save mana. Wands don't gain spell power in Forever, but early on they rival your spells. Stand still 0.5 s before they shoot.

Macros are untested in the Forever client unless a label says otherwise.
