Arcane Mage: Rotation

Single target (level 30)

1. 
   Arcane Intellect and an Armor on before the pull: Mage Armor for regeneration from 34, Frost Armor before that.
2. 
   Frostbolt to pull: the target arrives slowed, and it can proc Missile Barrage.
3. 
   Arcane Missiles at once on a Missile Barrage proc: free, and twice as fast.
4. 
   Arcane Blast up to four times, then spend the stacks with Arcane Missiles. Stop early when the next Blast costs more than you can spare, or the mob is nearly dead.
5. 
   Arcane Concentration when Clearcasting procs, spend it on an Arcane Blast.
6. 
   Fire Blast or a Presence of Mind Arcane Blast when you must move.

Packs

1. 
   Frost Nova to freeze a pack that has reached you; step back.
2. 
   Flamestrike on the pack while you have room, or at once if a tank is holding it.
3. 
   Cone of Cold to slow them as they come out.
4. 
   Arcane Explosion repeatedly once they are on you. One Arcane Blast first makes your next AoE spell stronger.

Cooldowns and emergencies

  Arcane Power from 40: +30% damage and +30% mana costs for 15 s, every 3 minutes. Use it with the most Blast stacks you can afford. Unconfirmed
• 
  Presence of Mind makes your next spell under 10 s instant: an instant Arcane Blast on the move, or an instant Polymorph.
• 
  Evocation 8-minute cooldown: +1,500% regeneration (16 times normal) for 8 s. Use it in long fights, not only to skip a drink.
• 
  Mana Shield when melee reaches you; Arcane Shielding makes it cheaper.
• 
  Ice Block if you are about to die; it costs a talent point in Frost, so only some builds have it.
