Claim Your World of Warcraft: Forever Character Names
WoW Forever's Early Name Reservation runs from 27 October to 3 November, and each eligible account can reserve names for up to three characters. Access comes with the pre-purchase editions Blizzard lists, and names go to whoever claims them first, with no guarantee of getting the one you want.
Highlights
- Opens 27 October at 1:00 p.m. PDT in North America and 18:00 CET in Europe
- Korea and Taiwan open on 28 October at 07:00 local time
- Up to three characters per account, counted across every Ruleset
- The three-character cap applies only during the reservation window
- Names are first come, first served
When it opens
Reservations run from October 27 through November 3. North America opens October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT and Europe the same day at 18:00 CET. Korea opens October 28 at 07:00 KST and Taiwan October 28 at 07:00 CST.
Who can reserve
The article ties access to pre-purchasing the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack or the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection. Its footnote instead says a World of Warcraft: Forever Digital Upgrade or Collector's Edition purchase is required, and does not say how those names match the packs. The benefit belongs only to the WoW account the purchase was made for.
The three-character limit
Each account gets three characters in total, whatever Ruleset they are on. Blizzard's example: two characters on a PvP Ruleset leave room for one more on Normal or Role-Play. The cap is only for the reservation period.
How to reserve
In the Blizzard desktop app, pick World of Warcraft, choose World of Warcraft: Forever in the Game Version menu and install it. Then press Play, pick a Ruleset and create up to 3 characters with the names you want. Names are handed out first come, first served.
Not announced yet
- Whether reserved characters can log in or play before launch
- Whether a reserved character can move to another Ruleset
