What this means for players

Nothing here changes a guide. The roundup says Forever is live and points to longer articles on controls, content and character choices. Gamepad players and guilds that want to link a Discord account should open those articles. The Pouch of Violet Dust toy is removed from collections after the launch celebration event.

Forever is live

The roundup opens by saying World of Warcraft: Forever is live. Blizzard calls it a permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW, and says it puts community first. A linked article compares the controls, content and character choices with the modern game and Classic.

Discord linking and guild chat

Players can link a Discord account and mirror guild chat, so messages go between Discord and the guild in modern WoW and in WoW Forever.

Gamepad play

Blizzard says Forever refines how gamepads handle targeting, casting, looting and menus, and that the feel stays familiar.

Pouch of Violet Dust

Watching eligible Blizzard streams earns the Pouch of Violet Dust toy, which improves your campfire. The window runs from November 4 at 4:30 pm PST to November 12 at 4:30 pm PST. The item exists only in WoW Forever, works only during the Launch Celebration event, and leaves collections afterward.

Forging Forever

The roundup links the Forging Forever video about making Taldramir, the Whispering Wood, Forever’s first legendary, forged by Wētā.
